About us - Our Story

Did you know?

  • 3.2 millions cats end up in animal shelters each year and 860,000 cats are euthanized each year
  • 5.4 million cats die in car accidents every year
  • 35 million cats live as strays, waiting to be captured and perhaps euthanized by animal control
  • Over 5.35 million cats pass away or suffer without feeling any love...

Cats have a long history as domesticated pets. The Ancient Egyptians were the first people to coexist with cats, and it happened as way back as 3500 B.C.

Cats have been our best friend for a long time now. They go through thick and thin with us. They always stay with us without complaining.

Unfortunately, this world is still cruel and unforgiving towards cats.

I started CatsForLife.co to change that.

Join us on this mission to Love Cats For Life!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Cindy and I'm a cat owner, too!

Over the 45 years of my life, I’ve had the joy to meet and live with 3 amazing cats.

    Meet Sam:

Sam is a Ragdoll-mix. Ragdoll cats are supposed to be friendly and affectionate. But for some reason, Sam is rather standoffish. He’d rather hug that ugly, misshapen monkey-plushie than me, his loyal servant!

Well, I have to admit. He does have his cute moments.

The reason he became mistrustful towards humans was probably because he spent quite a long time in a cruel breeding house as a kitten before I managed to rescue him.

Sam came out of that breeding house half-dead. He was so very ill. I had to take him to the vet once every 3 days to monitor his condition because he developed breathing problems, bladder issues, AND skin diseases!

It was when I was taking care of him that the idea about CatsForLife.co first popped into my head.

    And then, I met Jensen:

He wasn’t quite this Tall, Dark, and Handsome the first time I met him. But I still fell in love at first sight.

Jensen is a Persian-mix. He’s very intelligent and chatty. He’s also quite short-tempered and demanding. He treats me like his slave, but as long as he continues to look so adorable while ordering me around, I have no complaints!

Jensen didn’t come with as many health issues as Sam did, but I also rescued him from an illegal breeding house. The breeding house sold kittens online to the highest bidder, without first checking whether the buyer was really prepared to care for the kittens or not.

After I met Jensen, I started turning my vague images about a website that could help cats on a global scale into a concrete idea.

Finally, my determination came to fruition when I met Toby:

She was a stray cat I rescued from the streets. I say “was” because Toby no longer with us.

I rescued Toby when she was but a kitten. Her mother was also a stray cat. She birthed five kittens. Unfortunately, she was too young to care for them properly, and poor Toby was the runt of the litter.

Toby was abandoned by her mother. She was very weak when I got her, but I slowly nursed her back to health.

She was a very sweet cat, with a calm disposition. I loved her so very much.

One day, she slipped out of the house when I wasn’t looking. I looked for her for hours only to find her already gone. She was hit by a car.

    I cried for days.

It was then that I decided to launch CatsForLife.co. I did it for Toby. I did it for Sam and Jensen. I did it for all the cats out there that need help. Cats shouldn’t have had to suffer because of human carelessness.

My mission is to give them a helping hand and a place to call their home, so no other cats will have to face the dangers of living on the streets and die the way Toby did.

Over 5.35 million cats pass away or suffer without feeling any love... Toby became a number that added to this statistic. I won’t let that happen again. I plan to bring that number down to zero.

Any real cat owner knows that cats are neglected more so than dogs. People fear cats thinking they'll bring bad luck, especially black cats. There is nothing further from the truth.

The feeling of losing a beloved cat can be felt by every cat owner around the world including you. The pain in losing a family member cannot be described.

Despite having 9 lives, it is not enough!

The sole purpose of this community, Cats For Life, is to give recognition cats need on a global scale.

This is the reason why we do what we do.

But I can’t do it alone, and that’s why I need your help.

As they say: Cats choose us; we don’t own them. I was honored to be chosen by 3 wonderful cats. They saw something in me. They believed in me. I didn’t want to betray their trust. And that’s why I decided to become a human worthy of my cats’ trust by establishing CatsForLife.co.

How many cats do you have? How many cats have chosen you?

If there’s even ONE of them that believes in you, then I also believe in you. There’s a kindness in you. Deep down, there’s this shining will to lend your hand to cats in need.

Don’t wait. Tomorrow, it might be too late.
